Inspired by the Haggan, the CHamoru name for sea turtles, with the green sea turtle, or haggan betde, being one of the most commonly sighted species in Guam’s waters. These remarkable marine reptiles can live up to 80 years, grow over 5 feet long, and weigh more than 300 pounds, symbolizing patience, resilience, wisdom, and the strength to continue moving forward through life’s challenges.

As a house, Guma Haggan celebrates students who demonstrate determination, responsibility, and steady growth. Members of this house are encouraged to persevere through obstacles, lead with humility, and serve as positive role models for others.
